Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15, 1961) was an American actress. Known for her work in TV and film since the late 1980s she's been awarded numerous awards including two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett was brought up by her aunt in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was born and grew up at home in New York New York. Bassett, her sister, and their mother moved into St. Petersburg Florida when Bassett was 5 years old. The father of the family had divorced their mother. Bassett decided to be an actor after watching the stage play Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. After graduating at Yale University New Haven Connecticut in 1980, with the Bachelor's degree of African American Studies, she continued to pursue a Master's Degree (1983) at the Yale School of Drama. She dated Courtney B. Vance, another actress from Yale and they got married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. degree in African-American studies in 1980. Graduate of Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama School. Jordan Park Elementary School Disston Middle School (7th grade), Azalea Middle School (8th and 9th grades), Boca Ciega High School. Angela Bassett is currently working on one of the leading roles in the film Ramonda in the action film i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
